Case Filed On Oru Adaar Love Movie Song for Hurting Muslim Sentiments

The film, meanwhile, has run into trouble as the Hyderabad Police yesterday registered a case on a complaint that the lyrics of the song had allegedly hurt the religious sentiments of Muslims.

The newest internet sensation and national crush, Priya Prakash Varrier is an 18-year-old girl whose video clip from a song shot for a south Indian film "Oru Adaar Love" has gone insanely viral on the internet. A complaint alleging that the song hurts the sentiments of the Muslim community has been filed by Muqeeth Khan, reports News18. The complaint was filed with signatures of at least 57 people with their telephone numbers, and addresses provided to the police.

Oru Adaar Love is peddled to be a romantic-drama, directed by Omar Lulu.

Malayalam actress and B. Com first year student Priya Prakash Varrier's instant stardom - thanks to her wink and mischievous smile in a 28-second film clip - has left even her college principal eager to meet her.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Falaknuma) Syed Faiyaz, however, said that no FIR has been registered into the matter yet.

One of the oldest forms of cute love gesture or rather when you want to convey your adulation/love for anybody is giving a naughty wink or blowing a flying kiss.

The filmmaker said he was receiving vast support from across Kerala and was preparing for a June release. Mr Lulu said, rejecting demands to spike the song.

The complainant Zaheer Ali Khan says that he is not against the film or its actors. The police would consult some Islamic clerics about the translation of the song, he added.

"I would like to continue acting only, I will take my studies and singing along, and would like to go to different industries and do a bunch of good movies", said Priya Prakash when asked about her future plans.
"We will proceed based on their opinion... But we will fight for protection of our religious sentiments through legal means".
