Callum Hudson-Odoi: Bayern Munich explain interest in £35m Chelsea winger

Chelsea are unsure whether to let such a bright talent leave the club this month, despite the 18-year-old struggling for first-team game time under Maurizio Sarri.

The German giants have reportedly made a bid for the 18-year-old in the region of £35m, while sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has openly acknowledged that Bayern want to sign the teenager.

"He is a good player, but he is very young", Alonso said.

Such is their keenness to sign the England youth global that sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic spoke openly about their interest on Wednesday, as he said: "He is fast, good at dribbling, he would fit very well into our team".

Chelsea will be desperate to keep Hudson-Odoi on the books, but the lure of regular senior football and a club so keen to acquire his services could persuade him to make the switch. Hudson-Odoi would certainly fill one of those voids and, if he does move, would continue the trend of young English players thriving in the Bundesliga. Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson, former England Under-17 team-mates of Hudson-Odoi, have made a huge impression this season at Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim respectively. You can see it from both sides. It is something he needs to decide for his future.

'As someone from our academy I would obviously love him to stay and the dream for all of us at the academy is to see our boys playing in the first team, ' he said.

To that end, Bayern seem to be doing all they can to lure him to Germany, with various reports this week that they are prepared to give him the number ten shirt should he sign. For his future, I wish him all the best.

"I can announce that we managed to get the services of Benjamin Pavard from July 1, 2019", Salihamidzic told reporters during a Bayern training camp in Qatar, without giving any financial details of the transfer. He has all the tools to become a big player, but he has to work a lot.
