California senator apologizes to Grassley over Trump dossier

"After speaking with majority and minority committee staff for 10 hours, Glenn Simpson requested the transcript of his interview be released publicly".

He argued the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election has become the "central challenge to Mr Trump's presidency" and that publishing the dossier previous year was in the "public interest".

Mr Trump is the first modern United States president to withhold his tax returns from public scrutiny but Mr Simpson said the relative openness of the UK's financial system was an asset to their investigation.

Mr. Trump claimed on Twitter that the California Democrat has stated on "numerous occasions" that no collusion took place between his presidential campaign and Russian Federation during the 2016 election. The 35-page dossier was compiled from June to December 2016 and provided to Perkins Coie.

What's next? The Trump camp is still reeling from the release of Michael Wolff's Fire & Fury, which describes a disorganized executive branch with plenty of infighting and no chain of command. Simpson argued that Republicans were trying to obscure what happened in 2016, and California Senator Diane Feinstein released it to bolster the FBI's credibility. "The innuendo and misinformation circulating about the transcript are part of a deeply troubling effort to undermine the investigation into potential collusion and obstruction of justice". Once Steele tapped into his Russian sources and learned what the Russians had on Trump, Steele set out as a free agent to save the republic by sharing his "information" with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The release of the transcripts earlier this week apparently upset Trump, who suggested on Wednesday morning that Feinstein had possibly committed a crime.

"The one regret I have is that I should have spoke with Senator Grassley before", she told NBC News. Simpson is the co-founder of Fusion GPS.

Democrat Dianne Feinstein, 84, changed her story three times when asked why she unilaterally leaked Senate testimony.

Adds Trump: "Must have tough Primary!" There was no collusion, everybody including the Dems knows there was no collusion, & yet on and on it goes. "Republicans should finally take control!" he wrote.

As a bipartisan group met to discuss the fate of DREAMers - undocumented residents who were brought to the country as children and face deportation due to Congressional refusal to reauthorize DACA - Feinstein bested the president by proving he had no idea what he was even advocating for when he was at the table.

Sure enough, BuzzFeed published the unedited dossier one year ago.

Trump continues to give people who oppose his style of leadership derogatory nicknames.

Trump has often invoked Feinstein on the collusion issue.
