Boyfriend charged over pregnant teacher's death

Police said that he admitted to getting rid of the front license plate, her driver's license and her iPhone.

Nancy Grace assembled a team of experts in this Crime Stories episode to discuss what police are saying about Wallen's murder, including Cold Case Research Institute director Sheryl McCollum, Los Angeles psychoanalyst Dr. Bethany Marshall, Crime Online reporter Leigh Egan, and co-host Alan Duke.

His defense attorney, assistant public defender Victoria Kawecki, argued he be granted bond because he had no prior criminal history. On Wednesday, Laura Wallen's boyfriend was arrested and charged with her murder.

Wednesday, police announced that 31-year-old Laura Wallen, a teacher of the school, was murdered allegedly by her boyfriend.

Police said Tessier was the last person known to have been with Wallen. Our experts say that knowing what we do now, their interactions make a lot of sense.

Another series of texts were sent on the day of her death, and claimed the baby's father was an ex-boyfriend's. That same day, a text message conversation between Wallen and her sister revealed Tessier had taken the teacher to the Damascus field where her body was later found. Police think those texts were actually sent by Tessier.

Police said they were aware of inconsistencies in what Tessier had told officers and, questioned by them on Wednesday, admitted to certain aspects of the case.

The chief said police determined those texts had been sent by Tessier.

"You notice he took his hand and wiped his lips right before he sat down-two things, he's soothing himself but he could also be sweating because of nervousness", said Keith Scott. Police obtained a search warrant and went to the area Wednesday.

Wallen's body was found near Prices Distillery Road in Damascus on private property, police said. They were given permission to search through the dirt, where they found Wallen's dead body.

"Tyler has me on an adventure in the country. don't know why I'm here but it's for something", she wrote, court records say.

"If somebody has her, please understand that you've taken away a huge person in so many people's lives", Tessier said.

Tessier on Monday spoke at a news conference with her family, holding the hand of the mother of his girlfriend.

"I don't know where she is".

Throughout Alicia Waxman's five-year friendship with Wallen, they would discuss her relationship with Tessier, Waxman said Thursday. The victim's family gave their approval.

In fact, Manger said texts sent from Wallen's phone on the morning of September 4 were actually sent by Tessier.

Trough later said it was a "computed choice" by analysts to give Tessier a chance to address the media with a specific end goal to hear what he would state.

"He knew by touching her head that was symbolic because there were cameras rolling he knew this was going to be analyzed", Keith Scott, body language expert added.

FOX 5 was the first station to identify and make contact with the other woman Tessier was engaged to, but we kept this information under wraps to not jeopardize the police's investigation. "Just a senseless killing". She "was reported missing September 5, after she failed to show up for the first day of classes".
