Bethlehem man survives horrific DE crash that killed father, 4 daughters

Danny Trinidad said Saturday that he was planning to head to the hospital in DE where Mary Rose was taken and was recovering from surgery.

A NJ woman has been left with a lifetime to wonder what will become.

Police have released the names of the other two drivers involved in the multi-car collision in DE that killed a Teaneck father and his four daughters. The auto came to rest on the median, while the pickup truck continued to travel southbound in the northbound lanes and was hit by the Toyota Sienna minivan carrying the New Jersey family.

The family was returning from a trip to Ocean City, Maryland Friday afternoon when a pickup truck crossed the median for unknown reasons, struck a vehicle and skidded into the path of their minivan.

The other adult in the vehicle was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, reports said. The girls' mother, Mary Rose, was the only survivor. "I lost her forever".

Kaitlyn, known as Nikki, was a student at the College of Mount Saint Vincent in the Bronx.

Delaware State Police Saturday released more details on a crash that killed five family members in a minivan.

"They were very kind and generous", said 14-year-old Laysha Stengel. "They go to church. This guy took it all away", said the girls' uncle, Danny Trinidad, 59, from the family's Teaneck, N.J., home.

'I'm trying to keep it together.

"They were a close-knit family", Trinidad said.

Adding, 'They're a God-fearing family. He received a photo of the family eating blue crabs on July 4. It was the last the family heard from them. Their bodies in the morgue are unrecognizable'. Charles "C.R." McLeod, a spokesman for the Delaware Department of Transportation, said Route 1 was closed in both directions for 17 miles for hours after the crash. "I don't know how she's going to handle it". "To lose four children in a crash is just something that's unheard of", said Master Corporal Jaffe.

Near the crash site was a maroon extended-cab pickup truck with its passenger side caved in, Friday, July 6, 2018.

It's not clear why the truck crossed into the northbound lanes.

Investigators are still looking into what caused the fatal accident.

For reasons still unknown, the pickup truck - bearing a decal for Aledak Metalworks on the side - crossed the grassy center median from the southbound lane into the northbound lane around 3:45 p.m., cops said. The passenger vehicle came to a rest in the center median.

Jaffe said on Sunday afternoon that Hubbard and Kern were treated for minor injuries and released from an area hospital; she didn't know Ballocanag's condition.

There's no word if the driver of the truck will face charges.

A candlelight vigil was held in the family's hometown of Teaneck, New Jersey on Saturday.

People close to the family have since created a GoFundMe page that has raised more than $162,000 to help cover funeral costs and Mary Rose's medical bills.
