Bennett rips Packers after returning to New England

"It was one of those things I felt like I should get fixed", Bennett said in the Patriots locker room.

"Bill was like, 'Can you practice?' I'm like, 'Bill, I just want to sleep right now.' He was like, 'No, it's a Friday, just go and get some snaps.'" Bennett said. That helped him to decide to go and play ball.

But as Bill Belichick pointed out after Sunday night's game, that wasn't all on Allen. He is listed as questionable for the Patriots' game Sunday night against Denver.

The Patriots took control of the Broncos early and now have a firm hold on the division and conference race.

Bennett still appears to have hard feelings with the Packers after the way he says they handled his injury and subsequent waiving. When the Packers waived Bennett, he still meant to get the surgery, he said Sunday after the game.

Martellus Bennett tells all on his IG story. He added that even after New England claimed him, he said a conversation he had with head coach Bill Belichick was needed to convince him to return. "Then he was like, what's going on?"

"I chose my health over my 'team.' They chose money over me", Bennett wrote.

So Bennett goes from the Packers, a team with no passing game with injured star quarterback Aaron Rodgers out for the season, to the likely Super Bowl favorites and Tom Brady after saying he was on the brink of taking a desk job at Netflix. "It couldn't be a better place for me". Bennett's claims towards McKenzie definitely go against the norm. "Right now, I'm just like, (expletive) it". He has been the first to admit that after five seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, things hadn't gone as smoothly as hoped, in part because of the struggle to get on the same page with Brady with the non-verbal communication that is so critical to the offense.

He then ripped the Packers medical staff on Instagram, claiming that the team wanted to influence him to not get surgery on his injured shoulder. "I am rubber, and you're glue, and anything you say bounced off me and sticks to you".

It's the next step in a most-unusual journey between the Packers and the player who now is with the New England Patriots and who, as of Sunday morning, was intending on playing despite a reported torn rotator cuff. Four plays later, he was on the receiving end of a 5-yard pass. Bennett entered the medical tent on the sideline after the play and didn't return to action until the second half.
