The New Mexico State Aggies, fresh off winning their eighth Western Athletic Conference Tournament Championship, will travel west down Interstate 10 to San Diego, where they will face the Atlantic Coast Conference's Clemson Tigers Friday at 7:57 (MT) on TruTV inside Viejas Arena on the campus of San Diego State University.
If the Tigers win on Friday, they will play the victor of Auburn-College of Charleston in the second round.
Kansas is the No. 1 seed in Clemson's region, which is the Midwest. The Tigers earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and made it all the way to the semifinals in the conference tournament.
New Mexico State is a solid team that has played well all season.
Alabama was the team with a big question mark next to its name but with its SEC Tournament run in St. Louis, they impressed the committee enough to get a bid.
For the second-straight season and 19th time overall, the Gators will play in the NCAA Tournament. "But I think Michigan State is going to win that region". They are a team that can definitely give the Tigers fits. Missouri is a No. 8 seed this year and will face No. 9 seed Florida State (20-11) in Nashville on Friday.
Those are just some of the notable seeds in Clemson's region.
The Aggies sit at 28-5, which matches last year's team for the most single-season wins in school history.
